Most people consider themselves to be either dog people, or cat people. Then there are those like me who just love everybody. In addition to the dogs, horses, duck, chickens and even a bunny, we have an abundance of cats!! I thought they deserved their own page here, for all you cat people out there!!

Meet Knox

AKA: the Knoxville Stud as was his name when we adopted him.
Osama Bin Kitty and Obknoxious.

He has quite a story. He was found as a 1/2 starved kitten on Knoxville Road and taken to an animal shelter which was about to close, all 70 cats in the shelter were to be put down if homes were not found immediately. Knox was one lucky kitten. My vet took him and had him at her clinic, with the intention of taking him home when he was a bit older. My son happened to be with me when I was there one day and started playing with him. He begged and begged me to let him keep the kitten. When my vet heard him and saw how much they seemed to enjoy each other, she offered him to us. Not sure who got the better deal though, by the time he was 4 months old I was begging my vet to 'fix' him and remove his weapons of mass destruction.  Knox is a bossy, rambunctious trouble maker. We love him despite all that, and have fun with his antics. The dogs love to herd him and 'tree' him on the kitchen table daily, don't let him fool you, HE loves it!!
Here mousy mousy mousy........
Gotcha!!
When I grow up, I want to be a lazy FAT CAT!!
The cat chair.

Most anybody who has a cat, knows what  a cat chair is.
Tuffy was always KING of the cat chair, til this little upstart moved in and started taking over. It took him a few months, but Knox actually trained Tuffy to share!! As you can see, Tuffy is just thrilled with his new friend.

Tuffy

AKA: Tuff Cat, Too Fat, Alex's Dog, and many other names. He was named Tuffy for his pentient to beat the daylights out of his mom when he was a kitten, but grew out of that to be a fat lazy ol housecat. Nothing tuff about him.

Tuffy was born and raised at 'the old' house on Halloween. He was, by his own choice, Alex's best friend for almost 14 years and watched over him as he grew from a preschooler to a collage student.
He spent most of his life in Alex's room, sleeping on his bed, reading with him, and doing homework.

He was a boys best friend.
Sadly he became ill shortly after our move and was put to rest just a few days before his 14th birthday.

We miss you ol Tuff Cat.

Farm Rule # 1 DONT GET ATTACHED TO THE BARN CATS!!!

Just too cute!!  Who couldn't love a basket full of kittens?
Captain Jack Sparrow, a true pirate                    William Turner, a perfect gentleman

Captain Jack and Will were the only 2 of the 4 kittens born in the barn, just days after we moved in. I tired and tried to find them homes before winter, but seems there are just too many free kittens out there already.
We cried like babies when we lost Jack,  who couldn't love the little tyrant?
Wil was the only survivor in the end, but no worries, there was a fresh batch in October to love!!
Who's herding who?
Helping with chores.
What ever

you dogs don't impress me
Will, always under foot, in the way, demanding
attention, and sneaks in to the nice warm
house when ever he gets a chance. He's not the least bit impressed by any of the dogs.

One of the lucky few barn cats that are FIXED!!

White Sox (the second)

AKA: Bounce

He got to stay here since he looks just like a Border Collie!!

Alma, named after my grandma
Hazel, named after a friend of my grandma

Notice how they made their way into the nice warm house?
Thing 1 and Thing 2
The Terror Twins

Sox and Hazel take a break from tormenting the dogs, and tring to tip over the Christmas tree.

FYI, yes they WERE supposed to be barn cats!!
They are now fixed and declawed, and in the house to stay.
