Congratulations to Kevin and Michelle (and Rosie the Dobbie) of Bellflower Ill.

Kevin and Michelle had recently lost their beloved Hope, their first Border, a rescue whom they greatly miss.

Click on Faith and Hope's names to visit their web pages. You can read Kevin's very touching letter to his girl Hope.

After hearing their story, I know Faith will be well loved and spoiled with trips to the Dairy Queen for many years to come.
Hope
Faith, all grown up, what a beautiful girl!!
She has even tried her paw at herding and
seemed to enjoy it very much.

Update: her owners recently bought her a log home on
an acreage. She already has a couple horses, and is
working on getting them to buy her some sheep!!
                    Way to go Faith.

A very special THANK YOU to Kevin Rumple for helping me with my website, especially in explaining how to resize
pictures!!
(and keeping me up on Faith's progress!!)
"Faith did fine. She woke us twice, I had first shift
and Michelle second. She's been real good about her
duties. She's spending the day with Rosie" (the Doberman).

"Faith is a perfect angel! She's catching on to the
potty schedule pretty quick."

"She's going with us to
play cards tonight so we can teach her how to play
Conasta!"

Testimonials  (AKA life with a  new puppy)
"Day 2 and Paco Boo Boo is still doing great.  He is a very laid back easy going puppy.  I haven't really had to crate him except at night.  He is happy sleeping in our mud room near his crate during the day. When he is in the main part of the house we have just been watching him. We can pretty much tell when he needs to do his business.  He has gone in the car with me 2 times today and loved it.  He especially loved my sons soccer game with all the kids. Of course they all loved him too.  The kitty's have sort of gotten used to him they both ignore each other. (better than a cat fight) He loves playing in our backyard with the boys.  He loves to run after his lobster."
Tamarack update:You could not have picked out a better puppy for us.  She is wonderful.  The first night she did cry a little.  But, we built our own house and insulated all the inside walls with sound proofing insulation.  I closed the bedroom door and never heard a thing.  Tiger did not help very much the second night though.  He decided to sleep in the recliner with Tammers (Colin's name for her stuck) on his chest.  She was not real happy about being locked in the cage this morning when we went to work though.  Grandma came over at noon to let her out and give her some more food and water.  She felt so bad about putting her back in the cage that she is going to come over tomorrow morning and babysit all day.  I have a wonderful mother-in-law.

One of the first places Tammers decided to take over as her own was the spot under the table.  I wonder which branch of her family she got that from! Anyway she is a pleasure to have around.  I can hardly wait for Chris to come back and meet her.

Thank-you for the information about her schedule.  I am sticking to it the best I can.

Love,

Marti"
Tammers is now at her summer home with her new family, in the Northwoods (Upper Michigan), here is a fun little story about her new hobby!!

"As is customary of most border collies, they naturally develop a sense of herding on their own.  Our Tammers has added a new twist to that this morning.  She has decided that it is her responsibility to take care of our deer heard.  As mother feed carried the containers of corn to the winter starved beasts she followed dutifully on her mother's heels.  At times she was within just a few feet of the creatures.  She then backed away to a distance of about 20 feet and started watching.  For 20 or 30 minutes nothing could rip her attention from 'her' herd.  But then the animals wanted to leave....  Problem......  Tammers decided her heard had to stay.  With lightning like speed she rushed after the startled creatures trying in vain to round them up and drive them back to the pile.  It did not work very well, but it sure was amusing to watch."

"Several nursing mothers visited the corn and the salt block yesterday but, their fawns have yet to be spotted.  (Pun----laugh) "

Jinkies!!  (Jess x Chilly Dog)
Zoinks!! (Raven x Chilly Dog)

Jinkies and Zoinks live happily with 3 Scooby Doo fans, and their mom and dad.
The Grabs Gang first adopted Jinkies, and loved her so much they quickly came back and adopted Zoinks just a few months later.
They are about as opposite in personality as can be. Jinkies rules the house, and Zoinks is happy to let her.

Thanks Grabs Gang for so many updates and happy reports on these two beautiful pups!!

Hi Patti,

I just wanted to thank you so much for allowing such a sweet and beautiful dog to enter our lives and our hearts.  Blitz is more beautiful than I can explain.  Blitz and Freddy are such a huge part of our lives and I think they give us so much joy that we can share together.  I cant wait to show Blitz the mountains and take him fishing with me and Freddy.  I really believe that we were blessed with another perfect dog and member of our family.  I will never be without doggies.

Mark

He now lives in Calgary Alberta Canada.  He made the trip just fine!!  Blitz was a wonderful surprise Christmas present to his wife Sue, and she was very very surprised, becasue he kept the secret to the very end!! Merry Christmas to Sue and Mark!!
Blitz in herding mode at 11 weeks.
Dear Brandi,
Hope your first birthday was as fun as mine.  (although I wonder if we get shorted on gifts because it is so close to christmas.)  I hope to come and play with you sometime in the spring or summer.

Love Always your sister,

Jinkies

P.S. your half brother Zoinks says hi and happy birthday too!

This is why one should always KNOW what they are getting into when they get
a border collie.
Mark and I went out grocery shopping last night.  I accidentally forgot to
put away a new large package of
toilet paper.  This is what they did. Grrrrr....it was the expensive stuff
too!!!
